Step 1: Precision Shell Forming
Production begins with the forming of the stainless-steel inner liner and outer shell. Depending on the product design and construction, the shells may be produced through multi-stage deep drawing, hydroforming or a combination of forming processes.
During deep drawing, stainless-steel material is progressively formed into the required cylindrical or contoured shape through several controlled stages. The forming depth and dimensions must be managed carefully to reduce the risk of uneven wall thickness, deformation, surface marks and material cracking.
Hydroforming uses controlled fluid pressure to expand a preformed stainless-steel shell against a forming die. This process is particularly suitable for creating curved profiles, wider body sections and other shapes that require a smooth, consistent contour.
After the main body shape has been formed, additional operations may include necking, reshaping, edge trimming and bottom finishing. Critical dimensions—including product height, opening diameter, capacity and overall profile—are checked against the confirmed specifications.
Dimensional consistency at this stage provides the foundation for all subsequent processes. Accurate forming helps the inner and outer shells align correctly during welding and ensures proper compatibility with lids, sealing components and other accessories.
It also reduces the risk of tilted bodies, inconsistent opening dimensions, capacity variations and mismatched components, resulting in well-proportioned drinkware with a stable structure.
Step 2: Precision Structural Welding
After the inner liners and outer shells have passed inspection, they proceed to the structural welding stage.
Standardized welding procedures are used to create strong, uniform connections and smooth weld seams. Careful process control helps reduce the risk of incomplete welds, missed welding points and potential leakage while preserving the product’s original profile.
After welding, the affected areas are carefully ground and finished to remove welding marks, burrs and surface irregularities.
This process improves the product’s appearance while supporting structural integrity, sealing performance and long-term durability. It also prepares the product for the vacuum insulation process.
Step 3: Vacuum Insulation
Vacuum insulation is one of the most important processes in double-wall insulated drinkware manufacturing. It directly affects the product’s ability to retain heat and cold.
After the inner and outer shells have been welded and sealed, specialized equipment removes air from the space between the two walls. The vacuum cavity is then sealed to reduce heat transfer and create an effective thermal barrier.
Process parameters—including vacuum level, evacuation time and sealing conditions—are adjusted according to the product’s capacity and construction.
Careful control at this stage helps reduce the risk of insufficient vacuum, air leakage and unstable temperature retention, supporting consistent and long-lasting thermal performance.
Step 4: Polishing, Cleaning and Electropolishing
A refined metallic finish and reliable corrosion resistance depend on thorough surface preparation.
Before coating or other decorative processes, the drinkware may undergo a complete preparation sequence that includes:
- Fine grinding of welded areas
- Internal and external surface polishing
- Degreasing and contaminant removal
- Automated electropolishing
- Inspection for surface imperfections
- Pre-treatment before coating
Electropolishing helps remove surface oxidation, metallic residues and fine polishing marks. It creates a cleaner, smoother and more uniform stainless-steel surface while improving resistance to corrosion and oxidation.
This process can also help reduce the risk of discoloration and surface spotting during long-term use.
After polishing and cleaning, the shells should be smooth and free from oil, particles and visible surface imperfections. Proper preparation improves coating adhesion and helps reduce the risk of peeling, uneven color and other coating defects.
For uncoated stainless-steel drinkware, it also creates a clean and refined metallic appearance.
Step 5: Surface Finishing
Once surface preparation is complete, the shells proceed to the selected finishing process. Depending on the required appearance, available options may include powder coating, spray painting, electroplating, gradient finishes, two-tone finishes and other decorative effects.
During production, coating coverage, color consistency, surface texture and batch uniformity are carefully monitored. The selected finish determines not only the product’s visual appearance but also its texture and overall feel in the hand.
Step 6: Logo and Graphic Application
After surface finishing, logos and decorative graphics are applied to the product. Common branding methods include laser engraving, screen printing, water transfer decals and UV printing.
The most suitable method depends on the artwork, number of colors, available printing area and selected surface finish. Before production, the logo size, position, color and orientation should be confirmed. Careful process control helps maintain graphic clarity, placement accuracy and a consistent appearance across the entire order.
Step 7: Accessory Assembly
Once the main product body is complete, lids, straws, silicone seals, handles, straps and other accessories are assembled.
Compatibility and functional checks are carried out during assembly to ensure that lids open and close correctly, sealing rings are installed properly, accessories fit the selected product and all components are securely assembled. These checks help reduce the risk of loose parts, poor fitting and leakage while ensuring that the finished drinkware meets its intended usage requirements.
Step 8: Final Inspection and Packaging
Fully assembled products undergo final inspection before packaging as part of our broader production quality control process. Depending on the product and order requirements, the inspection may cover overall appearance, surface finish, logo position and clarity, lid and accessory assembly, sealing performance, packaging contents and product quantities.
Products that pass inspection are packed according to the confirmed packaging specifications. Packaging may include protective bags or sleeves, individual boxes, instruction cards, labels, inserts and export cartons. The finished cartons are then prepared for warehousing or shipment, completing the manufacturing process.
